Having started
with Grinnell in their Pipe shop in 1969 in Atlanta (super –
Robert Taylor) I have maintained an interest in the Fire
Protection Industry as a career for over 38 years. It is my great desire to see
qualified individuals trained in the design of fire suppression systems, and I
intend to take every advantage of the newest technology in doing my part to
accomplish this.
Having been
involved in training at the industry level since working with
Joe Wiginton, Jack Setzer
and Wayne Gey on the Florida Automatic Sprinkler Training committee in Florida
and Mike Brown and CEFGA for the Georgia Fire Sprinkler
Association, I have worked both from an administrative and instructor’s level. I
have also helped with the development of training materials and teaching guides.
My greatest
pleasure and career advancement opportunity came in 1999, however, in my new
business relationship with Joe Reghetti
and
other members of the M.E.P.CAD team. Of all the so-called sprinkler design programs
I have seen, this is the first one that actually “does what it says it will do”
as well as being the first (and currently only) 3-D "Stand-alone" program for fire protection
and alarm systems that can claim success.
Since beginning
to use this program on a daily basis for sub-contract design in June of 2000, I
have increased my production immensely. I let the finished product (including
3-D sections and details, the most advanced hydraulic analyzer I have ever seen,
and an accurate and versatile Stocklisting program) speak for itself. I am
currently seeking NICET certification in Fire Alarms and Special Hazards,
as well as maintaining a team of trained designers.
